An Associate of SafeGuard, Warren Collins has worked within the electronic security industry for over 25 years, serving customers globally delivering and advising on a wide range of diverse, complex projects.  He has been an independent security consultant since 2012 and an expert witness since 2014.  Warren is a Director and Board Member of the Association of Security Consultants.

Background and Experience

Warren joined SafeGuard Security in 2014 to provide expert witness and litigation services in the areas of CCTV (VSS) (installation, systems, analysis and imagery) and Access Control including biometric recognition.

After completing an electronic engineering apprenticeship at Marconi Defence Systems, Warren entered the electronic security industry in 1990 and spent thirteen years working for electronic security installation companies in leading technical positions.

In 2003 Warren moved into manufacturing with Nedap where he was responsible for the UK training and technical support of the Nedap AEOS access control product.

Warren then joined Maxxess in 2005, where he gained invaluable experience in global customer and project management. Initially EMEA Technical Manager, supporting multiple customers and projects in the Middle East and Europe, he progressed to become the Technical Product Manager for Maxxess’ access control products.

He moved to CNL Software in 2011 as the Product Integration Manager where he was responsible for the delivery of CNL’s software integrations.

Since 2012 Warren has acted as an independent consultant, working with many companies providing technical consultancy services.

Significant projects undertaken include the introduction of one access control card to be used across multiple access controls system within the UK for a major company and working with a police force to allow them to view all train operating company’s thousands of cameras in their central command location.

More recently Warren has been the technical manager responsible for the technical delivery of the perimeter CCTV system for a high security hospital  He is currently involved in the design of a new secure hospital working to the National Offender Management Services (NOMS) and Ministry of Justice (MoJ) standards.

He has also written various distant learning modules including the BTEC Level 3 Access Control Course for Tavcom.

Warren has already achieved significant results for SafeGuard, resolving access installation issues for a large UK building society and proving the innocence of a security guard wrongly accused of theft.
